Mas2dm2 released!

Someone crashed in to my car about 3 days ago so I have been trying to sort that out. I have also been setting up a new business of fixing peoples PC's.
I put up some cards in shop windows and after less than 24 hours of the first card being put up I got my first job and I earnt £35 for 3 hours work today :D
Anyways, so my latest map is out, duels good, not sure about 2v2 or 4v4, try it - if you want to give me some feedback I'd be happy to hear it. The map took 5 days all in all including play testing (if you disregard the time spent not working on it).

This map was originally designed with duels in mind and this is not really a release specifically for Quake2, the map will be re-worked for Doom3 if ID ever get around to releasing it.

New map!

Four days ago I started mapping again, I originally wanted to make a map for painkiller but I later found out that painkiller uses maya for level edititing so I knocked that one on the head.
After giving it some thought I decided on making the map with Doom3 in mind. The occlusion culling techniques on this map ensure that when Doom3 is available it will be an easy map to build (so long as I can make sure not too many light volumes intersect).
The issue, as always, with me is to get weapon/health weights right so I decided to hack together a quick version for testing under the Quake2 engine. Testing has gone well and I have a bit to change to even the level up but it should be available in about another 3 days.

Mas3dm1 has at last been released! It had some weird PVS related bugs - I think my tree turned out to be too complex for q3map to handle as it should have, then again almost none of the map is axial so what can I expect.
Yea so anyways it's out as of now so get it while it's um... luke warm. |

There's an old tutorial I have found which may be of some use to some of you wishing to write or edit an entities.def for Radiant.
It's not linked on the site anywhere else as I don't often write tutorials, I have written some others but lost all of them apart from this one. If I write some more I may set-up a dedicated tutorials page.

Links are now up and working thanks to Lorddaimos.
My Quake3 conversion of my first Quake2 deathmatch map, Mas2dm1, is just about finished, just a few PVS bugs to iron out, some perfectionist fueled stuff (you know me :) to fix too and then it should be ready to package and release.
Looking for mirrors for my maps if anyone wants to help out. I can mirror your maps on my site so it'll be mutually beneficial. Mail me if you're interested. |
